The historic Giant Tire in Allen Park, Michigan, will be lit to spread awareness

Uniroyal donates to support research for metastatic breast cancer

ALLEN PARK, Mich., Oct.16, 2023 – Uniroyal Tires is shining a light on breast cancer and metastatic breast cancer in October by lighting the historic Uniroyal Giant Tire in Allen Park.

Throughout October, the tire will be lit pink. On Oct. 13, the tire will be lit pink, green and teal in recognition of Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.

Uniroyal is donating $1,000 to METAvivor Research & Support, an organization dedicated to people with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Metastatic breast cancer is not curable and means the cancer has spread from the breast to other parts of the body.

Uniroyal has a long history of giving back, and the company is committed to supporting breast cancer research and awareness.

“For several years, Uniroyal has spotlighted Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness by lighting the Uniroyal Giant Tire in pink, green and teal,” said Uniroyal brand director Michelle Grim. “The Giant Tire is a landmark in the Detroit area and represents the brand’s long heritage. We want part of that heritage to highlight and promote metastatic breast cancer research.”

The Giant Tire will be lit pink throughout October. Uniroyal encourages everyone to learn more about breast cancer and prevention.
