GIANT UNIROYAL TIRE RENEWS FOCUS
ON BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (Oct. 1, 2024) – Uniroyal Tires will continue its tradition of turning Allen Park’s Uniroyal Giant Tire into a beacon of hope, cutting through the darkness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 

Throughout October, the Giant Tire will shine pink, which refers to the pink ribbon that symbolizes unity in support of breast cancer patients. 

On Oct. 13, the Giant Tire will join more than 200 world landmarks lit up in teal, green and pink to recognize Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day and show solidarity with that community.

 
Metastatic breast cancer (MBC), also known as Stage 4, means cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Teal stands for healing and spirituality, green for hope, and pink signifies that the cancer originated in the breast.

“Breast cancer education and prevention is a cause that is significant to us as a brand and to all of us individually,” said Uniroyal brand director Michelle Grim. “We are glad to use the Uniroyal Giant Tire to show our encouragement and to remind passersby to consider self-exams and other early detection options. We are proud to be a part of the Light Up MBC global campaign to benefit METAvivor.”

If you visit the Giant Tire on the evening of Oct. 13, take a photo and post it, tagging @lightupmbc and @metavivor and using #LightUpMBC to help shine a light on MBC. Tune in to #LightUpMBC Live, a virtual benefit, on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. CT. It will feature inspiring patient stories told from illuminated landmarks around the world, as well as celebrity guests and musical performances to raise funds for MBC research.
